SOCCER IS A LOST COMMODITY?
Soccer cannot be looked at as commodity for the following reasons, as quoted from wiki-pedia, "A commodity is something for which there is demand, but which is supplied without qualitative differentiation across a market. It is a product that is the same no matter who produces it, such as petroleum, notebook paper, or milk. [1]In other words, copper is copper. Rice is rice. Stereos, on the other hand, have many levels of quality. And, the better a stereo is, the more it will cost. The price of copper is universal, and fluctuates daily based on global supply and demand."
Soccer must be treated not as something you trade generically. In performing and displaying soccer at a high level,, which is the basis of the market, the factors are qualitative down to the DNA of the person performing. That means, that each training session, each partnership agreement, means something, each piece of info that goes into a players head, means something. We are talking about soccer players where the end factor is a human being, not a piece of copper or rice.
You can not classify a players legs or his decision making capabilities as fixed commodities. You can only cultivate and provide environments for this natural resource to be nurtured. If you can replicate this like clockwork :) , then you have a 'Goalden Resource.'
Economic Value of Goods
Natural resources are mentioned as possibly being classified as a commodity, but that is because, it seems, there is not a better definition. The problem seems to stem from 'what establishes the economic value of goods.'
I would say that the system that you use in cultivation is where you can put economic value.
PlaySoccer Marketplace is going about creating soccer economic value by providing Global Soccer Courses. Soccer Courses have been designed to create the environment to grow and nurture soccer resources. These courses and the infrastructure that make them up, are about positive growth and providing low cost soccer information to all soccer participants. This is how we go about doing our Product Differentiation.

Expanding the mind to see the future
It is difficult and for some of us it is almost impossible to see the future of soccer, but look to Spain and see how brave support is for a cause; now make logistics not a problem.
There is the future of soccer! More efficient! The value is in the application of the efficiency.
Find Systems to improve many types of efficiency. Things are impossible only because we have been conditioned for years to shrink the mind, instead of reaching forward to improve.

PART 3 - USING BOTH FORMAL AND INFORMAL SYSTEMS
Uncertainty and change in today’s environment means that probably your current soccer teaching model needs to be updated. John Hagel co-author of The Power of Pull: How Small Moves, Smartly Made, Can Set Big Things in Motion, describes the ongoing shift in power from institutions to individuals through ‘pull,’ a mechanism that allows people to find and access relevant resources at the point of need. Hagel said the dominant model for institutions today is one that ‘pushes’, rather than pulls - which is a system that steers users to focused learning objectives. The push model requires a tightly integrated and executed system, increasingly difficult to maintain in a rapidly changing environment.“For a variety of reasons having to do with long-term trends playing out in the world, the ability to predict and forecast is more and more challenged and there’s a need to think about pull platforms, which allow you to draw out the right people and right resources wherever they’re needed, whenever they’re needed,” he said. In a pull platform, talent development emphasizes spontaneous learning and informal structures rather than a formal training program. Pull learning provides the ability for users to take on challenges and find the resources needed to develop solutions. “The learning is actually a byproduct of facing unexpected challenges and ever-increasing performance requirements,” Hagel said. Moving to a pull learning requires redefining leadership. In a push world, leadership means developing a program and enlisting others to follow it. “In a world of pull, it’s about helping people to develop the capabilities to become leaders in their own context so when they’re confronting an unexpected challenge they have the initiative and the questing disposition that will make them want to embrace that challenge and find creative ways of overcoming it and addressing it, and in the process learning from that experience,” Hagel said.Find a pull learning platform for soccer at http://soccertalk.meFind a push learning platform for soccer at http://soccertrainer.me

What is Return on Investment in Soccer Interaction or ROISI?
The term is derived from ROII which is a measurement of how much productivity is created in a networked environment. In our case its a Soccer Association, so we are the first to apply soccer to the definition.
The focus of ROISI is doing what’s important to reach your soccer goals and involving those who know what’s important. Value is placed on what participants know (or know how to find out) about improving the soccer experience of stakeholders.
Let’s look at some core assumptions about ROII on a platform like Soccer Country:
- Continuous flows of information are the raw material of value creation and overall performance from players, parents, coaches and fans.
- Information flows are carried by links, alerts, RSS feeds, search engines, aggregation and filtering of content, etc.
- Soccer Country platform features social networking and search capabilities.
- Platforms’ architecture facilitates purposeful cross-silo communications and exchange.
Social networking pioneer Valdis Krebs has outlined four generic metrics that are becoming widely accepted as leading to observable, tangible, measurable outputs:
- Increase in size of network
- Increase in internal network connectivity
- Increase in connection to valuable 3rd parties
- Increase in number of projects formed from all three factors above
1. Increase in size of network: As the Soccer Country database grows and the volume of player, coach, parent, fan and organization data it holds increases, it’s utility to all aforementioned increases. And when the data begins to be (appropriately) used by those networked, the value of the interaction will increase in an (likely) exponential fashion.
2. Increase in internal network connectivity: As more and more participants are networked into Soccer Country.me and begin to use the dynamic social network to seek for and circulate pertinent and useful information, there’s a tangible return on the intangible flows of information and knowledge.
3. Increase in connection to valuable 3rd parties: As more information fills the Soccer Country database, and more players, parents, coaches, organizations and fans use it, the apparent value will become clear to others with expertise or value to provide. To this end, both volunteer and for-profit services are being added to the growing ecosystem. (contact soccerpartners.me if you would like to partner).
4. Increase in number of projects formed from all three factors above: It’s pretty easy to imagine that as Soccer Country and its use(s) take root, there will be other clever and useful projects that grow out of the experience. With a solid educational foundation in place and growing with users consistently developing, that is how Return On Investment in Soccer Interaction (ROISI) works and delivers value to organizations and groups who decide to use social networking, linked information and data, and computing dynamics to accelerate their effectiveness towards achieving a better soccer experience.
